ADOPTION PENDING!

Located in Indianapolis, IN
Introducing the sweet little Maggie Mae.

Maggie Mae started her life in a puppy mill and seems to be making up for her lost puppyhood. She’s making great progress in becoming a more confident dog. Her pronounced underbite, big eyes, and tiny body make her absolutely irresistible. She’s incredibly communicative, using her body language, mouth, and front paws to express herself. Maggie will nudge with her paws or get mouthy, as if to say, “Pet me more!” She also has plenty of energy, always ready to play or zoom around the house.

On her first night in bed with her foster mom, instead of sleeping, she was playful and stayed up most of the night. She still playful before bed, but now it has turned into a nightly routine of demanding pets before she falls asleep.

Maggie's foster mom calls her a little vacuum because she finds every crumb on the floor or steals food, even after being well-fed. It’s not unusual for puppy mill dogs to have an endless appetite. Many of them never got enough food daily, and some never fully overcome that fear of food insecurity. It's heartbreaking that so many people buy dogs without considering the suffering of those trapped in puppy mills.

Maggie is looking for a home with another active dog. She loves to play, but she needs another dog to teach her about being a dog. An active family with older children will be good too. We're working on potty training. With routine and being taken out for potty walks, she'll have this down in no time. She will use potty pads as a back up for when it's raining. Maggie's not ready for a crate just yet...it seems to really distress her. You can gate her in a small room when you leave.

This little angel is fully vetted:
All vaccines are up to date
Spayed
Microchipped
Heartworm neg and on monthly preventive

Pinto is a wonderful, loving boy that needs a home with no kids and no other pets. Are you retired and thinking about sharing your life with a little schnauzer boy? Do you work from home, have no kids and no other pets? Pinto's your guy!

Hey there! Pinto is a wonderful, loving, playful 7-year-old guy on the lookout for a warm and loving forever home. He absolutely adores being the star of the show, so a cozy place with no other pets or kids is what this sweet guy needs. Pinto's life has been challenging. Everything started out great, he was adopted by a warm loving couple and he was their baby....for 3 years. Then a human baby came along and instead of teaching him what this shrieking thing was and learning to accept it, they put up a gate. Pinto was no longer allowed in the family room or to sleep in his owner's bed. Basically, he was cut off any time the baby was awake. This went on for several years until the couple were expecting their second child and they decided that this arrangement of separation wasn't good for him.

Due to his life up to this point, he get anxious when he's left alone for long periods of time. Call it “separation anxiety,” but knowing his past, we can understand why being alone can feel scary to him. Pinto needs someone to love him unconditionally and understand his past so he can be happy now and in the future. Could that be you?

When it comes to fun, Pinto loves toys to wrestle with, dashing around the backyard, and taking his role as the neighborhood watch dog very seriously—he doesn’t miss a thing! Snack time is the highlight of his day, especially when it involves bananas, carrots, and yummy doggy treats.

In the evenings, he loves to snuggle up in your arms—there’s nothing he enjoys more than quality cuddle time. At bedtime, he'll snuggle up and keep you cozy. And in the morning, I’ll be there to greet you with bright eyes and lots of love!

Location: Columbus, IN

All shot are up to date
Neutered

very sad that he lost his family of 7 yrs when a little patience and training may have solved the problem.

ADOPTED!! ❤️

Sox is still looking for a home of his own. Do you have room in your heart for him?

Located in Indiana

Introducing.....General Soxious Maximus aka SOX!!

Sox is a loving little 12 year old guy. He has striking features with gorgeous white on his beard, eyebrows, legs and feet. He weighs 17 pounds, and is on the shorter, stockier side. He is getting more playful as he becomes more secure in his surroundings. He loves to cuddle on the couch or in bed. He's good with people, kids and other dogs. He hasn't been exposed to cats, but he's such a gentle spirit that I imagine he'd be good with them. We just haven't been able to test him with cats. He loves to be rubbed and petted while next to you on a soft blanket. He enjoys a warm shower and is easy to groom. He's also a good little guard dog! He will bark when someone comes to the door, but he listens when he's told to stop. He's potty trained and crate trained. Sox is an older boy at 12 years old, but he has lots of love to give!

Sox does have a few medical issues that his new family would need to be prepared for. He has cataracts in his right eye that are severe and his vision is definitely affected by them. He does get around just fine though. He needs a good bright light at night when going out to potty.

Sox has had several melanomas removed and has a few small moles that need to be watched.

And, he has a grade three heart murmur. The heart murmur does not require medications as of yet, but might in the future.

All vaccines up-to-date
Neutered
Microchipped
Heartworm Negative and on monthly preventive
House trained
Crate trained
Leash trained

If you’re interested in bringing Sox into your family, please fill out an adoption application at ahsr.ngo/application. ***Please be sure to read the application page fully before applying.***
