Folks, I just don't understand it. Maxwell is STILL WAITING for his forever home. There has to be someone that needs a loving companion to snuggle on the couch with at the end of a busy day. Maxwell doesn't do well living in a home with other dogs. So what? We've adopted many dogs that need to be the only dog in the home. We also think he'll do best in a home without children under 12, but as a precaution. He hasn't tasted anyone or even had a nibble! All kidding aside, Maxwell is sweet and loving. He'll be that constant companion, your "ride or die" through thick and thin. This great little guy just needs someone to love. Could that be you?

Max is 4 years old
Schnauzer mix
Gives hugs that melt your heart (seriously, he hugs)
Vaccines all current
Heartworm neg. and on monthly preventive
In excellent health
Crate trained
Leash trained
House trained

Does Maxwell sound like the guy for you? Please fill out an adoption application our website to get the process rolling. Approved applicants can meet Maxwell and see for yourself what a fine fellow he is.

He looks a lot like my little guy who had apparently been dumped out on Harding St in front of IAC in the middle of the night abt 4 years ago. He's an Affenpinscer-Minpin mix per WP and was possibly used for BYB breeding. IDK what Maxwell's story is, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that they are related.

He's so cute! If only I didn't already have 2 dogs who I adore 😭

He looks like toto from the wizard of oz!

I woke up thinking about him this morning. We had Max for a week. He is so stinking sweet. He gives the best hugs and is super loving towards his human friends. Please!!! Someone give this sweet boy a home!

Aww I wish he liked other dogs. I would take him in a heart beat.

So happy to see he’s pending 💞

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 got the perfect home for Max I have 2 dogs so I can't but he's so precious 🥰

What a sweet face!! ❤️🙏

Everyone who is thinking of getting dogs should read this because you need to understand this reality:

***I am a 21st century dog.***
-I'm a Malinois.
Overskilled among dogs, I excel in all disciplines and I'm always ready to work: I NEED to work.
But nowadays I get asked to chill on the couch all day everyday.

-I am an Akita Inu.
My ancestors were selected for fighting bears.
Today I get asked to be tolerant and I get scolded for my reactivity when another approaches me.

-I am a Beagle.
When I chase my prey, I raise my voice so the hunters could follow.
Today they put an electric collar on me to shut up, and you make me come back to you - no running - with a snap of your fingers.

-I am a Yorkshire Terrier.
I was a terrifying rat hunter in English mines.
Today they think I can't use my legs and they always hold me in their arms.

-I'm a Labrador Retriever.
My vision of happiness is a dive into a pond to bring back the duck he shot to my master.
Today you forget I'm a walking, running, swimming dog; as a result I'm fat, made to stay indoors, and to babysit.

-I am a Jack Russell.
I can take on a fox, a mean badger, and a rat bigger than me in his den.
Today I get scolded for my character and high energy, and forced to turn into a quiet living room dog.

-I am a Siberian Husky.
Experienced the great, wide open spaces of Northern Europe, where I could drag sleds for long distances at impressive speeds.
Today I only have the walls of the house or small garden as a horizon, and the holes I dig in the ground just to release energy and frustration, trying to stay sane.

-I am a border collie
I was made to work hours a day in partnershipwith my master, and I am an unmistakable artist of working with the herd.
Today they are mad at me because, for lack of sheep, I try to check bikes, cars, children in the house and everything in motion.

I am ...
I am a 21st century dog.
I'm pretty, I'm alert, I'm obedient, I stay in a bag...but I'm also an individual who, from centuries of training, needs to express my instincts, and I am *not* suited for the sedentary life you'd want me to lead.
Spending eight hours a day alone in the house or in the garden - with no work and no one to play or run with, seeing you for a short time in the evening when you get home, and only getting a small toilet walk will make me deeply unhappy.
I'll express it by barking all day, turning your yard into a minefield, doing my needs indoors, being unmanageable the rare times I'll find myself outside, and sometimes spending my days sunk, sad, lonely, and depressed, on my pillow.
You may think that I should be happy to be able to enjoy all this comfort while you go to work, but actually I’ll be exhausted and frustrated, because this is absolutely NOT what I'm meant to do, or what I need to be doing.
If you love me, if you've always dreamed of me, if my beautiful blue eyes or my athletic look make you want me, but you can't give me a real dog's life, a life that's really worth living according to my breed, and if you can't offer me the job that my genes are asking, DO NOT buy or adopt me!
If you like the way I look but aren't willing to accept my temperament, gifts, and traits derived from long genetic selection, and you think you can change them with only your good will, then DO NOT BUY OR ADOPT ME.
I’m a dog from the 21st century, yes, but deep inside me, the one who fought, the one who hunted, the one who pulled sleds, the one who guided and protected a herd still lives within.
So think **very** carefully before you choose your dog. And think about getting two, rather than one, so I won't be so very lonely waiting for you all day. Eight or ten hours is just a workday to you, but it's an eternity for me to be alone.

Meet Kari! She's looking to hop her way directly into your heart and home this spring!

She is a delightful 2 yo Miniature Schnauzer who has been spayed and is current on all vaccines. Kari is a parti schnauzer and her white and black colors mix perfectly together to remind you of an Oreo milkshake! Kari’s unique features are further complimented by her tiny cropped ears and tiny docked tail. And when I say “tiny”, Kari is fully grown but she still wears an XS size t-shirt!

Being in a home with other dogs to play with is highly recommended since her canine friends have been the best part of her life thus far! Since Kari was nearly subjected to a lifetime of being a “breeder dog”, she needs humans with a lot of patience who are able to help her continue becoming the best version of herself.

Since being in foster care, Kari has found her voice which she loves to use! Using stairs, giving licks to my fingers, crate training, and getting treats are some other things Kari has discovered and loves as well.

Kari is doing a lot better with potty training and she is learning to not steal food from the other fur children’s plates when they have their wet food dinner served to them at night. Since she is only 2, Kari has a lot to learn yet, but this is actually the perfect time for her to find her forever home now where she can learn to trust humans and have the life she is meant to have.

Since she is learning to trust humans, a home with young children is not recommended plus she has to have a fenced yard to run and play in. She enjoys chasing frisbees and balls in the yard despite not knowing how to play with toys or similar items. Her interactions with cats is unknown but she enjoys chasing squirrels with the other dogs!

If you're interested in adopting Kari, fill out an app on our website,

Kari is sure to make you laugh and become a delightful part of your life if you can continue to show her what love and trust is.

Might be better to share photos instead of this video. You can’t see her very well at all.

I love her! Someone is about to find the Puppy Love of their life!

If we were ready, this little gal looks perfect! ❤️

We are still looking, Kari would be great but my dog is elderly and a couch potato. I would love a parti.
