Jethro has been adopted!

I have an update on Jethro... To get anyone who cares up to speed about two months ago Jake brought home this little dog that he found on a delivery. It was really cold that night and this poor pup was practically begging for help. We got in contact with the owner on file by calling his vet (number was on his rabies' tag). Owner on file tells me they had to rehome him two months ago due to her and her husband's health issues. New owner had some health issues also and had a medical emergency the night Jethro got out when the paramedics carried him out the door. New owner gets out of the hospital a couple days later and tells old owner he can no longer care for the dog to his declining health. I assured old owner I wouldn't put him in a shelter and would care for him the best I could until we could find his forever home. What a treat these last couple of months have been. He was such a sweet baby dog and loved to cuddle (especially during thunderstorms). I'm kind of bummed now because yesterday he left to go to his new forever home. I know it's for the best. I already have 5 pets, 3 kids (2 of them with special needs), a full time job, and a household to run. I really don't have the time to give a high maintenance dog such as Jethro the love, care, and attention he requires. His new home is perfect! His new owners are very loving people. They just had to put down their little fur baby a few months ago so they are still healing from that loss. They're kids are grown and out of the house so it will be just the three of them. His new mom works from home to make it an even more ideal situation. I have to tell myself I made the right decision. I've really grown to care for the dog as well as his old owner. I texted old owner last night that that I really hope new owner calls her. Old owner replied she just got off the phone with new owner and looks forward to hearing from her again.
